Festival de las Flores 2016
Since the final event from Festival de las Flores 2015 we’ve been working hard to make 2016 even better and more enjoyable for all. This year, we are excited to announce Festival de las Flores will be opening up NYC’s summer festivals with several events in June and July.
June 25th, 2016 – Festival de las Flores/Flower Festival at Flushing Meadows Corona Park
A huge food and music festival featuring many local and international acts from 10am-6pm. The Festival will have a wide variety of musical acts such as: Miranda, Sebas y Migue, Rebolu, Zafarrancho, Camilo Puinn, Tahonnas en Clave, and many more. Enjoy humor and trova by Caballo Loco from “Sabados Felices” and of course live DJ’s like DJ 360 playing famous hits all day!
Visit the Delta Airlines booth for a chance to win round trip air tickets for two! Enjoy delicious multicultural foods and drinks, and take home a beautiful craft made by our very own Silleteros!
Also, don’t forget to take pictures by our silletas with Colombian Silleteros near the stage.
July 10th, 2016 – Desfile de Flores/Flower Parade
Desfile de las Flores is returning to Northern Blvd in Jackson Heights for the second year in a row. The parade will run from 69th street all through 88th street from 12pm to 2pm.
Enjoy more than 30 “silletas”made by the famous Silleteros of Medellin, Colombia! Silletas will display sponsors’ logos and 3D designs on our emblematic silletas. Flower floats over 20 feet long will adorn the Boulevard along with some special guests, our Grand Marshal, Flower Queen. Live music will accompany our dance groups and enjoy a special performance by the Carnaval de Barranquilla!
Come and enjoy the beauty of the Colombian flower and the NYC Flower Parade! We’ll see you there!
